Elizabeth ‘Betsy’ Wurdeman, Of Counsel

Elizabeth “Betsy” Wurdeman (fka  ‘Jackels’) has strong ties to the Seattle area, having graduated from both Seattle Preparatory high school and Seattle University.  Her parents are chemistry professors, at Seattle University and the University of Washington, and her husband is a local business owner.

Betsy graduated from Seattle University in 2005 with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies and a Public Relations emphasis.  Pursuing her desire to broaden her perspective and to experience a different part of the country, Betsy attended law school at Stetson University College of Law in Gulfport, Florida, and was awarded her Juris Doctor degree in 2009.

Betsy also had the opportunity to study abroad during law school in both Germany and the Grand Cayman Islands, and enjoys traveling whenever she can. After law school, Betsy returned to Washington State in order to be near to her family and to begin her career.

Betsy has practiced family law extensively and has experience with dissolutions, child support and spousal maintenance modifications, parentage actions, domestic partnerships, contempt actions, and domestic violence protection orders.

Betsy loves working with families in transition; she is broadening her expertise in Probate and Estate matters as well as Guardianships, Pre and Post Nuptial agreements, and Domestic Partnership agreements and dissolutions.

Betsy has also volunteered extensively with programs such as the KCBA Family Law Mentor Program, the KCBA Housing Justice Project, Northwest Justice Project’s Cross Cultural Family Law Clinic, and the World Peace Through Law Section of the WSBA.

Betsy enjoys cooking, renovating her craftsman house with her husband, and spending time outdoors.
