Jamie Kim attended college at the University of Illinois and majored in mechanical engineering, earning her degree in 1997. She also traveled internationally and earned an International Studies minor. She almost worked as a scientist for a major nuclear facility in Chicago, but felt the call to law school. She graduated in 2002 from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles and has been practicing law since then.
Jamie immigrated to the USA from Korea when she was 12; she speaks, reads, and writes Korean fluently. Her personal and familial immigration experience provides her a special awareness and knowledge about immigration challenges.
Jamie enjoys camping, cooking, and hiking. She also enjoys her young daughters, Joy and Grace, and her husband, Sung Kim, who is an accomplished acupuncturist in Lynnwood.

Jamie previously worked for the Cook County, Illinois, Attorney’s office and the Los Angeles District Attorney’s office, as well as public defense offices in Seattle.
Jamie now concentrates on business law such as business purchases and sales and leasing, landlord/tenant issues, collections, and immigration matters such as work and investor immigration. She also facilitates local and international adoptions. Prior to joining Hawkes Law Firm she gained extensive experience in loan modifications, short sale negotiations, contracts, traffic and criminal defense and other civil disputes.
